Which goes first? Moisturizer or Serum Stick?Updated a year ago
If you're using both a moisturizer and a serum stick in your skincare routine, it's generally best to apply them in the following order:
Moisturizer: Start by applying your moisturizer to clean, dry skin. Moisturizers help hydrate the skin, lock in moisture, and create a barrier to protect against environmental stressors. Allow the moisturizer to fully absorb into your skin before proceeding to the next step.
Serum Stick: After applying your moisturizer, you can then use the serum stick. Since serum sticks often contain concentrated active ingredients, they can be applied directly onto targeted areas of the skin, such as the eye area. Gently glide or dab the serum stick around the eyes, following the contours of the eye sockets. Allow the serum to absorb fully into the skin.
By applying the moisturizer first, you provide a hydrating base for the serum stick to effectively penetrate and deliver its beneficial ingredients to the skin. This ensures that both products work together synergistically to provide optimal skincare benefits.
Additionally, if using makeup, you can apply it after allowing both the moisturizer and serum stick to absorb fully into the skin.
